The Cause

Expanding renewable energy without sacrificing the seabed

The Effect

The UK Government has set ambitious targets to operate 50 GW of offshore wind generation by 2030, harnessing the UK’s unique geography and offshore opportunities. Nearly quadroupling the generating capacity to achieve net-Zero commitments cannot, however, come at the expense of thriving marine ecosystems.

The ECOWind Programme has funding of £9.45 million and supports four research projects, tasked with delivering the science policymakers need. The MW team holds a core role as the communications partner of a programme which prioritises rapid dissemination of information and constant re-alignment to make the most of research outputs.

The Annual Impact Meeting, organised and facilitated by the MW team, is the key touchstone for diverse stakeholders to assess the programme. This is supported by our efforts in creating a modern, accessible website; managing a digestible newsletter; and providing expert communications support to project leadership
